Hi all, in light of recent changes to unskippable 30 sec ads I have decided to simply boycott everything I see as an unskippable ad and thought I might share this approach with everyone trying to keep youtube watchable. If you get bombarded with ads. It's because you tend to not click away. Close the video and then close the site. If you can do it, take a break and come back later. Over time they will hound you with less ads because they know you will leave the site otherwise. It is and will forever be a game of cat and mouse. Once enough people know this.

Starts a video. Immediately met with an unskippable 15 seconds Google Certificate ad. Ad finishes, taps on timestamp to get to the area of the video I’m interested in. IMMEDIATELY confronted with double unskippable 15 second ads: Google Certificate and Ed Sheeran. Ads finish, finally I get to enjoy the video.

There are some ads that are, what I assume it, you tube approved. I can't skip big car ads, and a select few other types. I assume it's for people who don't have a local ad running and needs ad time to run, so make Ford or Toyota pay for it. Mostly I get google ads for some watch or something that's unskipable. Sucks.

And if that wasn't already trashy enough, non of the ads are skippable, and not in the way that they'll say "your video will play after the ads," there is NOTHING there. So I'll be sitting there, watching two silent, unskippable ads, unable to do sh!t about it.
