A Purdue University student from South Korea has been freed from federal detention following days of protests by faith leaders in New York and abroad.

Yeonsoo Go, a 20-year-old South Korean student at Purdue University, has been released from federal immigration custody and reunited with her family in New York after being detained for four days in a case that sparked widespread community outcry.

Yeonsoo Go, a rising sophomore at Purdue University, was released Monday after getting detained by ICE for five days. This news comes after many friends and family rallied together in support of her release.
