Rory McIlroy held his first post-round media session of the U.S. Open after shooting a 4-over 74 in the third round at Oakmont.

Over the past several weeks, golf superstar Rory McIlroy has caused quite a stir with his behavior during recent major championships, as he refused to speak to the media after six consecutive rounds at major tournaments.

First Rory McIlroy flung an iron down the 12th fairway. Then he used driver to demolish a tee marker on 17. He might not win the sportsmanship award at the U.S. Open, but he will get to play on the weekend.

Rory McIlroy lashed out at the toughest golf course in the country Friday as Oakmont Country Club continued to bare its teeth at the 156 men competing in the 2025 U.S. Open. Though McIlroy was hardly the only golfer to be frustrated by the difficulties he faced in Western Pennsylvania, he was perhaps the most demonstrative of the bunch.
