The Tigers kicked the weekend off on the right foot thanks to a vigorous rally late on Thursday night. The Angels carried a slim lead heading into the eighth inning, but Detroit exploded for eight runs, finishing the Angels off with three more in the ninth on their way to a 10-4 win. The Bengals are now 2-2 on their 10-game road trip.

By doing so, Greene became the first player in MLB history to hit two home runs in the ninth inning of the same game. Greene also became the first Tigers player to hit two home runs in the same inning since 2007 when Magglio Ordonez did so in the second inning in a game against the Oakland Athletics.

Riley Greene homered to open the top of the ninth inning and capped an eight-run outburst with a three-run shot to lead the Detroit Tigers to a 9-1 win over the Los Angeles Angels.
