The Powerball jackpot is only growing, even after taxes. After no winners were drawn over the weekend, the lottery's estimated jackpot, which hit a $2 billion record three years ago, has now expanded to an estimated sum of $426 million, according to the Powerball website.

A Massachusetts man won $2 million on a Powerball ticket after stopping to get his children slushies at Cumberland Farms.

Paul Corcoran, a Fitchburg resident, bought two separate Powerball tickets with the same numbers for the July 9 drawing that each won $1 million before taxes. The first was bought at a Fitchburg Market Basket, and the second came from Country Farms on North Main Street in Leominster.
