One of the heroes of the 2015 World Series and most decorated defensive players in Royals history has received one of the team’s highest honors. The Kansas City Royals announced on Friday morning that Alex Gordon has been elected into the Royals Hall of Fame.

Alex Gordon, who played his entire 14-year MLB career in Kansas City and helped snap the franchise's 30-year title drought, will be inducted into the Royals Hall of Fame on June 13.

The pose is as iconic as the player, Alex Gordon rounding first base, right arm raised toward the sky, looking out toward the outfield after his game-tying home run ball in Game 1 of the 2015 World Series had just cleared the fence.
