The ex-host of the political show, The Five, on Fox News, Jeanine Pirro, was officially announced as the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia by the Senate on August 2, 2025, as per Associated Press. The politician, author, and former judge was appointed after decision came after a 50–45 vote, mostly along party lines.

Pirro's record made her a controversial choice to serve as the U.S. attorney in Washington, D.C. Senate Republicans rubber-stamped her nomination anyway.
