Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. ordered the Food and Drug Administration on Monday to revise its rule allowing food companies to "self-affirm" that its ingredients are safe.

Food industry leaders of General Mills and PepsiCo, along with the Consumer Brands Association, are expected to meet with HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. on Monday, March 10.

Thousands of Department of Health and Human Services employees were offered the option to voluntarily resign in exchange for payments of up to $25,000. Most of HHS’s roughly 80,000 employees are eligible for the offer and have until 5 p.

Most of the employees at the Health and Human Services Department have been offered a lump-sum payment of up to $25,000 to quit their job or, if eligible, retire early.
