Your domestic air travel could be delayed if you don’t have an accepted form of identification at TSA checkpoints come Wednesday, the deadline for “REAL ID.” After years of pushing it back, the Department of Homeland Security is set to enforce the May 7 deadline.

The Real ID deadline is fast approaching and most travelers at Logan Airport are already equipped with their new identification.

“If they do not have any acceptable ID, we strongly suggest they arrive to the airport 3 hours prior to their departure time,” Velez told Gizmodo. Even if you arrive early, however, there’s no guarantee you’ll be allowed to board your flight. So it’s much easier if you just have a Real ID that you can hand over to security.
