President Donald Trump has deployed the National Guard to quell riots in Los Angeles, taking more firm actions than he did against violent protests in 2020 after George Floyd's death.

The party raises millions in the state from wealthy donors and grassroots supporters, sometimes in a single day.

The demonstrations are organized by Indivisible, a nonprofit coalition of progressive political action groups.

Dozens of mayors from across the Los Angeles region banded together Wednesday to demand that the Trump administration stop the stepped-up immigration raids that have spread fear across their cities and sparked protests across the U.

Protests against immigration enforcement raids have sprung up across the country from Seattle and Austin to Chicago and Washington, D.C.

The court documents said sending troops on immigration raids would only escalate tensions and promote civil unrest.
