The lingering emotions and ongoing angst among many in Altadena and Pasadena found some outlet Saturday evening, Jan. 18, when a Texas-based artist organized an impromptu vigil on the southeast corner of North Lake Avenue and East Villa Street.

Many residents fled the Altadena and Pasadena area due to the blaze that has consumed more than 10,000 acres with zero containment, according to Lisa Derderian, a city of Pasadena’s information officer. More than 800 people were at the evacuation center, Red Cross volunteers said Wednesday morning.
The Eaton Fire was first reported around 6:30 p.m. local time near the eastern Los Angeles suburb of Altadena, according to KTTV and CBS News. It has since set 1,000 acres ablaze and remains at 0% containment, according to Cal Fire.
The Pasadena Jewish Temple and Center was built 84 years ago. It became engulfed by the Eaton Fire overnight Tuesday.
