Here's how to install it. In an update released in spring 2022, the Steam Deck allows players to install and run Windows OS 10 and 11 on the device.

Select “Windows 11 (multi-edition OS for x64 devices),” then hit the blue “Download Now” button. A page will load, then display another option that asks you to select your desired language.

So, with the caveats out of the way, what are the upsides? Put (overly) simply, Windows is not designed for handhelds. In fact, under the hood, Windows tends to see your gaming handheld as a laptop.
