Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier is in talks to return to Marvel to direct the X-Men reboot. After Thunderbolts* garnered some of the best reviews for Marvel in quite a few years, sources confirm that Schreier is engaged in early talks for the X-Men gig.

Screenwriter Michael Lesslie, who recent credits include “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes,” penned the screenplay with Kevin Feige on board to produce the newest “X-Men” entry. No other details about the film, including the cast or plot description, have been revealed.

If the average ticketholder is unmarried, unemployed, and uninspired, the film’s notion will make a good deal of sense. Otherwise, it is merely strange and sad.
