After a brief reprieve from the icy sludge and snow, more white stuff is on the way to Western Washington, according to the National Weather Service.

It will be dry and cool again on Wednesday with mostly sunny skies, but another chance of snow is right around the corner.

More record-breaking cold temperatures are expected Tuesday night across western Washington. A Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect, with windchill readings near 10 degrees in spots. A gradual warming trend will continue over the rest of the week and into the President's Day holiday weekend.

Moisture begins to tapper off as the low moves east. As skies clear a bit overnight, some patchy fog will develop overnight and temperatures will drop below freezing.

Most school districts in the Puget Sound and Western Washington were open Friday, including Seattle Public Schools, after intermittent closures during the week.

Thursday will be a transitional day, as a big change in the weather pattern will usher in rain, cooler temperatures, and a chance for lowland snow through next week.

Several locations will likely see record low temperatures by Tuesday morning, and a Cold Weather Advisory is in effect till 10 a.m. Temperatures will moderate and return to near normal by the end of the weekend and early next week with a chance for showers.
