The storied Zulu Social Aide & Pleasure Club's parade will roll on a shortened route starting at 7 a.m. — an hour earlier than normal — without marchers, bands or truck floats, according Darren Mire, Zulu's director of public relations. Rex is also set to roll early at 9:30 a.m.
Marching 100 surprises King of Zulu on Mardi Gras Day
“The profound memory is marching down St. Charles in front of Gallier Hall,” Zulu King Rodney Mason said. Fast forward to Tuesday, Mason would be back on St. Charles with the Marching 100, this time as king. “It’s an honor that Zulu and Pleasure club granted upon me,” Mason said.
