A federal judge has for now extended a pause on the deadline set by the Trump administration for federal workers to accept a deferred resignation offer and temporarily prohibited the government from soliciting more so-called buyouts.

A federal judge in Boston on Monday continued his pause of the Trump administration's unprecedented plan to get millions of federal workers to resign "until I respond to the issues presented," he said.

US District Judge George A. O’Toole Jr. said during a hearing in federal court Monday that an emergency order he issued last Thursday, pausing the government’s “deferred resignation” offer, “will continue until I lift it.
