In early July 2025, a screenshot claimed to show a real Truth Social post by U.S. President Donald Trump calling on people to forget the "Epstein files" and focus on the "beautiful young girls" who died in the Texas flash floods over the Fourth of July. Per the screenshot, Trump wrote:

Trump and first lady Melania Trump will arrive in Texas and participate in an aerial tour of the flooding site, which killed at least 120 people and more than 170 remain missing. The president will also participate in a roundtable discussion with first responders and local officials.

As President Donald Trump headed to Texas to see the brutal effects of the floods firsthand, a senior White House official told The Washington Post the administration is focused on “rebranding” the disaster response agency instead of eliminating it entirely.
