Millions of voters across NSW are being met by hopeful candidates at polling booths across the state, as frustrated residents declare the local government elections as a “referendum on housing”.

The NSW Local Government elections have been held across the state, with 128 councils going to the polls. The NSW Electoral Commission is conducting the elections for 126 councils, with Fairfield and Liverpool councils using another provider. Live results will start to go through after polls close at 6pm.

Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson of North Carolina, the Republican nominee for governor, vowed to stay in the race and pre-emptively denied the CNN report, which described years-old online remarks it said he made.
