Texas saw its season end with a 74-57 defeat against South Carolina. With the loss, Texas fell two wins shy of its first national title since 1986.

The Huskies, led by Paige Bueckers, advanced with an 85-51 win over UCLA in the Final Four on Friday night. They’ll face the defending national champion South Carolina Gamecocks on Sunday, April 6 at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla. Madness continues Friday with the women’s Final Four. South Carolina faces Texas at 7 p.m. and UCLA meets Connecticut around 9:30 p.m.

For some, competing on this NCAA stage is not new. UConn has advanced to the Final Four in 16 of the last 17 years and coach Geno Auriemma has led the Huskies to 24 total Final Fours in his career. So while the Huskies are the only No. 2 seed left in a field of No. 1 seeds, they bring a wealth of experience.
