The Toronto Blue Jays are adding a former Cy Young winner to their rotation. Toronto has acquired right-hander Shane Bieber from the Cleveland Guardians for righty pitching prospect Khal Stephen, the team announced on Thursday.

Shane Bieber didn't have too far to travel to get to Toronto. Cleveland and Canada are just separated by Lake Erie, after all. And the former Guardians' pitcher, newly acquired in a trade by the Blue Jays, was considering an unusual way of getting up north. Possibly joking, but still.

Adding the rehabbing Bieber injects the Blue Jays' starting group with proven depth and upside, while the Guardians nab a real prospect.
