Three people were killed, four were injured and seven others are missing after a small boat overturned early Monday in the ocean off San Diego, sheriff’s officials said.

Three people were found dead and nine others were missing after a panga boat overturned in the waters off Torrey Pines State Beach Monday morning, according to authorities.

At least three people are dead and nine other people remain unaccounted for, including two children, U.S. Coast Guard spokesperson Hunter Schnabel told USA TODAY. Crews responded to a report of an overturned vessel on the shores of Torrey Pines State Beach off the coast of Del Mar shortly after 6:30 a.m. local time, officials told KABC-TV.
