India's army chief will review security arrangements on Friday and visit the site of a deadly attack on tourists in Indian Kashmir earlier this week, an incident that has led to a fresh crisis with long-time rival and neighbour Pakistan.

Scores of tourists returned safely to Mumbai on April 24 after a terror attack in Kashmir claimed over two dozen lives, most of them from Maharashtra. The returning tourists were greeted with white roses and chocolates by local politicians at the Mumbai international airport.

While many tourists have been immediately rushed out of the Valley after the Pahalgam attack, a majority of the tourists have been confining themselves to their hotels till their tours are over prompting the authorities to enhance security across the tourist spots in the Valley.
