Scream 7 is being directed by Kevin Williamson, who wrote the original 1996 Scream slasher. Neve Campbell is returning to the franchise after sitting out the sixth film, and other cast members include Courteney Cox, Mason Gooding, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Isabel May, Celeste O’Connor, Mckenna Grace, Anna Camp, Joel McHale and Mark Consuelos.

Scream 7' is bringing David Arquette, who played Dewey Riley, back from the dead. The actor is confirmed to join the cast alongside Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox.

David Arquette, one of the franchise’s original stars, is returning for Scream 7, according to Deadline. That on its own wouldn’t be a big deal… save for the fact that his character, Dewey, died in the fifth film. (Killed by recent Anora Oscar winner Mikey Madison, actually, which is beside the point.)

If you told me David Arquette was going to be in a Scream movie a few years ago, I’d say “Duh! He’s Deputy Dewey Riley!” But in 2022’s Scream, the beloved character from the horror franchise was brutally killed off by now-Oscar winner Mikey Madison when she played a version of Ghostface (alongside Jack Quaid).
